About

DAN started dancing at the age of 12 and has been in the entertainment business since the age of 13. He is truly a professional. Whether it is teaching an inexperienced group the basics of square dancing, line dancing, mixers, circle dances, traditional dance or calling for a group of experienced dancers at a State Convention or weekend festival, Dan is the man for the job! Between dances that Dan can teach your group, he will DJ popular music from any era including old-time waltzes and polkas, swing, Rock & Roll, R&B, hip hop and even some belly rubbers.

His experience since starting to call in 1978 ranges from teaching 250 girl scouts and their (250) fathers basic square dance, line dance and mixers to calling for the National Singles Square Dance Convention (DANCARAMA). Dan records for the Chaparral label, a top of the line Square Dance record producer and has been hired in many states in the U.S. as well as in Canada, our friendly neighbors to the north. He currently is very active in his local square dance callers association, Swingmasters, as well as serving many years on the Executive Board of MSDCA, the MN state callers association, and he is a FULL MEMBER of CALLERLAB (the international organization of professional square dance callers). Dan has also been the keynote speaker at the leadership seminar for the State Square Dance Federation of MN.

Dan married Janet Bebernes on July 24th 2010 and they both enjoy working with the novices and getting them dancing quickly and successfully in minutes whether it is a wedding party, corporate function or a family picnic. He provides all the sound equipment and music needed and is licensed by BMI & ASCAP to perform and use copyrighted music. His professional yet relaxed style and humor makes learning fun and easy for the novice and many years of calling experience enables him to challenge even the most experienced dancers with creative choreography and to entertain them with many different styles of singing calls!

If you asked Dan his philosophy of a night of dancing he would tell you that above anything else everyone has to have a good time and feel like they have accomplished something successfully.

Whether you are planning a very large corporate event or throwing a party for a small group of friends, if you want good music played and the option of having someone who is able to teach many different kinds of dancing you should contact Dan and at the very least get some good advice about having a successful and fun event for your guests.
